Overview

Applyday ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps job seekers autofill applications, generate tailored resumes and cover letters, and score job matches. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

What data we collect

• Profile information you provide: Name, email, phone, city, current title, skills, work history, and education. This is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and is never shared with third parties.
• Resume file content: When you upload a resume (PDF/DOCX/TXT), the file is sent to our backend server for text extraction only. The extracted text is processed by OpenAI's API to structure your profile. We do not permanently store your resume file or its contents on our servers.
• Job description text: When you use Score Match, Resume, Cover Letter, or Ask features, the job description text visible on the current page is sent to our backend for AI processing. This data is not stored permanently.
• Usage activity: Actions like Score, Fill, Resume, and Cover Letter clicks are logged locally in your browser for the Dashboard analytics feature. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

How we use your data

• To autofill job application forms with your saved profile
• To generate AI-tailored resumes and cover letters via OpenAI's API
• To score how well a job matches your profile
• To answer questions about job postings via the Ask feature
• To show you usage statistics in the Dashboard

Third-party services

• OpenAI API: Job descriptions and profile summaries are sent to OpenAI's API to generate resumes, cover letters, scores, and answers. OpenAI's data usage policy applies. We send only the minimum information needed.
• LemonSqueezy: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions is handled by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your payment information.
• Railway: Our backend server is hosted on Railway (railway.app). API requests pass through Railway's infrastructure.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not track your browsing history beyond the current job page
• We do not store your profile data on our servers
• We do not collect analytics, cookies, or fingerprinting data
• We do not access your passwords, browser history, or bookmarks

Data storage and security

Your profile data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API. Our backend uses HTTPS encryption for all API communications. We do not maintain a user database.

Data retention

Profile data persists in your browser until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Our backend does not retain any data after processing a request.

Your rights

• Access: View your stored profile anytime via the extension popup
• Delete: Clear your profile by removing all fields and saving, or uninstall the extension
• Portability: Your data is in your browser — you control it entirely

Children's privacy

Applyday is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
